The Sub-forum  “Silk Road Cooperation and Wheat Industry Development” of 2020  Yangling International Agri-science Forum was Held

On October 23rd, twenty researchers and scholars from home and abroad attended the sub-forum “Silk Road Cooperation and Wheat Industry Development” of 2020 Yangling International Agri-science Forum. Chaired by Professor Zhang Zhengmao, the grand meeting was held in the Room 208 of the International Cooperation and Exchange Center of NWAFU.

Key-note speakers making reports

Focusing on the research achievements in the exploration of high-quality germplasm and gene of wheat, wheat distant hybridization, wheat molecular breeding and new variety breeding, dryland wheat cultivation and green production technologies, wheat industry and international trade, etc., the twenty reports provided a wealth of knowledge for the audience. The key-note speakers also exchanged ideas with the audience regarding the report content.

In 2016, NWAFU established the Silk Road Wheat Innovation Alliance with 85 agricultural, scientific, and educational institutions from 17 countries. The great efforts in the past years have been playing an important role in improving the drought tolerance of farm production, the scientific innovation and research, the talent cultivation and the educational cooperation among the countries along the Silk Road. The 2020 sub-forum has paved our way for the comprehensive cooperation in scientific research, talent cultivation, industrial development, and other fields, making greater contributions to the stabilization of world economy and the food security for the countries along the Silk Road.
